Credit Europe Bank Romania supports SOS Children's Village Romania in the Back to School 2018 season

18 September 2018

SOS Children's Villages Romania and Credit Europe Bank Romania continue their strategic long-term partnership, which began in 2012, with a donation in necessary school supplies for the new school year, as part of CEB Romania Corporate Social Responsibility strategy.

Education is one of Credit Europe Bank's CSR pillars, having as purpose to contribute to positive changes within the society through sustainable and constant measures. Taking this component into consideration, the collaboration with SOS Children's Villages Romania comes as a natural action in sustaining the education of children and youths that are now growing under the organization's wing.

"The "Back to School" season is another opportunity for all of us to contribute in preventing school dropout and in ensuring optimal conditions for education and development. By continuing this partnership, we wish to facilitate the access to education for the children and youths from the SOS Villages and the Youths Facilities", declared Roxana Velicu, Head of PR & Communication Division, Credit Europe Bank Romania.

"For 25 years, SOS Children's Villages offers a second chance to children who can no longer live with their parents. Constant support for education is one of the important milestones under which we act and through which we have managed to prepare for the future hundreds of children in the three SOS Villages. We are proud today that over 90% of the young people who emerged from SOS protection have found a stable job and are well integrated into society. At the same time, more than 40,000 children from hard-hit families have received SOS support in the last quarter of a century. The trust with which our partner Credit Europe Bank Romania is involved in the effort to keep children at school helps us to continue our long-term mission in supporting vulnerable children", said Diana Podaru, General Manager, SOS Children's Villages Romania.

The year 2018 marks 25 years of existence in Romania for both SOS Children's Villages and Credit Europe Bank. The collaboration between Credit Europe Bank Romania and SOS Children's Villages Romania began 6 years ago, when a CSR action named "Dupa fapta si rasplata" was implemented. In the developed project, CEB's employees managed to raise internally donations for the children from the SOS villages, thereby developing the "products and services stock market", materials which could be acquired in return for a financial contribution.
