Credit Europe Bank Romania introduces Google Pay for customers with Mastercard cards and thus offers them access to a fast, simple and secure payment method at a large number of merchants, online or in stores. Credit Europe Bank's CardAvantaj (Standard, Gold, Platinum), CEB Diamond (Gold and Platinum) and Optimo Card credit cards users and Mastercard debit card can already enjoy the benefits of Google Pay along with the advantages provided by the bank’s cards. Google Pay further expands the range of contactless solutions offered by Credit Europe Bank Romania, with customers already having the option to use Apple Pay, CardAvantaj gadgets - the AVANTAJ2go contactless sticker and bracelet - and contactless payment cards.
By registering their Credit Europe Bank card in the Google Pay app on any device that uses an Android operating system (newer than version 5.0) with NFC technology, customers can give up their wallet in favor of their mobile phone. As with any card, payments made through Google Pay are free. For a higher level of security, using Google Pay involves activating a way to lock / unlock the phone screen, specific to the device used, whether it is a numeric code, fingerprint, or facial recognition.
To make a payment, one should simply unlock the phone and bring its top side close to the POS, without touching it, similar to a contactless card. In just a few seconds, the user will receive a confirmation message and the amount will be subtracted from his account. The NFC function of the phone must be activated during the transaction to allow communication with the POS device.
